Ambassador Kornelios S. Korneliou entered in 1989 the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Cyprus. He has served as an Ambassador to Austria and France and as Permanent Representative to the European Union in Brussels, whereas he chaired the Committee of the Permanent Representatives (COREPER II) during the first Presidency of Cyprus of the Council of the EU (July to December 2012). He also served as Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and as the first Secretary General for EU affairs. From 2020 to 2023, Ambassador Korneliou was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and since July 2023 the Ambassador of Cyprus to Israel.
